This Year’s Commencement Speaker: Jeffrey Brown

The Center for Cartoon Studies is proud to name Jeffrey Brown as our 2015 Commencement speaker! Brown is a graphic novelist and New York Times #1 bestseller for Darth Vader and Son, and its sequels Vader’s Little Princess, Goodnight Darth Vader, and the Jedi Academy series. He has also drawn nearly two dozen books, and directed and animated a video for the band Death Cab for Cutie.

CCS Spring Eisner Lecture: Ellen Forney

Cartoonist Ellen Forney is the author of NYT bestseller Marbles: Mania, Depression, Michelangelo, and Me, and the 2012 “Genius Award” winner in Literature from Seattle’s The Stranger. She collaborated with Sherman Alexie on the National Book Award-winning novel The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, created the Eisner-nominated comic books I Love Led Zeppelin and Monkey Food, and has taught comics at Cornish College of the Arts since 2002.
