With the release of the Berlin: City of Light (Drawn and Quarterly), Jason Lutes is out and about this fall. On Thursday, October 4, Jason has an art show up in The Center for Cartoon Studies (CCS) gallery in the Colodny Building and will be giving a public talk. The talk begins at 3pm in the Post Office building. Then the exhibit opens at 5pm. Jason’s trilogy Berlin, now compiled in a single volume, is a historical fiction graphic novel about the decline of the Weimar Republic and the rise of Nazism in Germany.

The Norwich Bookstore will be there providing books for sale. So if you haven’t yet bought a copy and need him to sign one, it won’t be too late. The Norwich Bookstore is community based, locally owned, and independent. T

Author talk and book signing with Mark Siegel

Sailor Twain, or the Mermaid in the Hudson by Mark Siegel

Mark Siegel is an author, illustrator, as well as the editorial director of First Second Books. His latest graphic novel, Sailor Twain, or the Mermaid in the Hudson (First Second, October 2012) is a supernatural romance set in late nineteenth-century New York, and was hailed by John Irving as “a gripping novel with compelling characters, enhanced by haunting, erotically charged artwork.” Siegel will discuss researching and creating Sailor Twain, and books will be for sale by Norwich Bookstore. The event is free and open to the public.
