Spring Lecture Series with Ngozi Ukazu and Joel Christian Gill

The spring lecture series at The Center for Cartoon Studies (CCS) this spring will feature Ngozi Ukazua and Joel Christian Gill. They are each bringing their skills in three-week intensives as part of the CCS MFA and Certificate program. Joel will discuss using comics to convey historical events, personal history, and the process of adaptation. And in the Publication Workshop, Ngozi will focus on digital coloring techniques and approaches, along with production workflow. Both of these charismatic cartoonists have been CCS Visiting Artists in the past. And Ngozi has taught two digital coloring workshops at CCS, including one during the first-ever season of winter workshops at CCS.

Black Lives Matter Comics Reading List

American Library Association has compiled a lengthy reading list of graphic novels that draws attention to the Black experiences of the past and present. Supporting the Black Caucus of the American Library Association as well as the Black community at large, they created this list of books to demand a new future for our Black friends and neighbors.
