The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art launched its second online exhibition on September 30, 2020: Now & Then: Contemporary Illustrators and their Childhood Art. It debuted last year but closed early due to the pandemic. But, they are now offering this popular exhibition online. Included in this fascinating exhibit is Tillie Walden ’16. Tillie is the Eisner award-winning creator of Spinning and On a Sunbeam. The show compares and contrasts art from illustrators’ childhoods to now.

“There’s this idea that our childhood drawings are the ones we make with freedom and joy, but for me it’s the opposite.”
