Founding Board Member Ana Merino to Deliver Keynote at International Comic Arts Forum

Ana Merino, The Center for Cartoon Studies founding board of trustee member, is giving the keynote address at the International Comic Arts Forum. On Thursday April 4 at 9:15 in Davenport, Iowa, Ana will be presenting “Comics Reinventing Creativity in the Museum,” having curated four comics exhibitions. Later, on Friday April 5 at 10:45 am, she will moderate the panel “U.S. Chicanx Comics.” The panel will include José Alaniz from the University of Washington, John Petrus from Grinnell College, and Corey Creekmur from the University of Iowa.

ICAF is an annual, English-speaking conference exploring comic art as an international phenomenon. They aim to encourage discussion and collaboration among academics, independent scholars, comics professionals, and the wider public. The Center for Cartoon Studies hosted the ICAF ′11 conference in White River Junction, Vermont.
