The Pulp Culture Comic Arts Festival and Symposium is coming up at the end of October. CCS faculty Jason Lutes (Berlin, Drawn and Quarterly, 2018) presented the pre-conference keynote address on September 27. And another CCS faculty, Stephen R. Bissette, provided the excellent Sasquatch illustration for their poster.

On October 26, Jaime Hernandez, who has presented as a visiting artist at CCS as well as provided the 2017 graduation certificate illustration, will be presenting the keynote address. The conference itself takes place on the 26^th and 27 at the University of Vermont, in part presented by the Vermont Folklife Center. Bissette will be on discussion panels over the weekend along with Glynnis Fawkes (a recurring CCS visiting artist), James Kochalka (previous CCS faculty), and many more.

On October 26, previous CCS faculty Marek Bennett will lead the hands-on Folktales, Fairy Tales, Monster, Myths, and Legends comic workshop from 2 to 6. Each participant will create at least one page of a hand-drawn comic inspired by folk and fairy tales. You can bring your favorite tales or choose from the sources provided.

In the Exhibition Hall, you can also find plenty of CCS alum.
