Be Gay, Do Comics is the newest anthology from The Nib. This 250-page hardcover comic anthology features queer history, memoir, and satire: “a homosexual behemoth highlighting the many amazing LGBTQ cartoonists [they’ve] had the joy of working with.” Included in this bundle of talent is Kazimir Lee Iskander ’16 and Sasha Velour ’13.
Kazimir Lee Iskander’s comics have been featured on Slate, Seven Days, The New Inquiry, and Oh Joy Sex Toy. Miles and Honesty in SCFSX, written by Blue Delliquanti and drawn by Kazimir, is an adults-only sci-fi that won LGBTQ Erotica category at the LAMBDA Awards.
Sasha Velour is best known for her international drag show, Smoke and Mirrors, and winning season 9 of the Emmy-winning reality TV competition RuPaul’s Drag Race. Her thesis project at CCS was about the Stonewall Riots, which she completed and self-published as Three Dollar Riot.
