Tuition for the workshops includes in-class supplies and morning snacks.

Workshop participants will have 24-hour access to studio space and the CCS Production Lab, black & white and color copying and printing, and Schulz Library borrowing privileges.


CCS partners with local, regional, and national nonprofit organizations to provide full and partial summer workshop scholarships for students who could not otherwise attend.

Need Based Scholarship

Additional partial scholarships are available through CCS based on financial need for individuals or families making less than $50,000/year, on a first-come first-serve basis. To be considered for a scholarship, please submit a copy of your most recent federal income tax return to or via fax, 802-295-3399.

You will be notified of your award, if any, within 3 days of receipt, and provided with a code to deduct the amount of the award from your online registration. You must register for the workshop within 7 days of notice of the scholarship.

Student Accommodations

Student housing is available at the nearby Hotel Coolidge. The hotel is located in the historic village of White River Junction at 39 South Main Street, a few steps from CCS and the Amtrak station.

Special rates are:

$40/night Su-Th and $50/night Fri-Sat for a single hostel room or shared hotel guest room
$69/night Su-Th and $79/night Fri-Sat for a single hotel guest room ($10 for each additional person in a room)

Staying 10 or more nights? Receive a discount of $5/night off the single hostel room rates or $10/night off the single hotel guest room rate.

Daily Schedule

Class time runs from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm daily. Breaks are offered throughout the day, including a one-hour lunch break. A class schedule overview is provided prior to a student’s arrival.

The Schulz Library

The Schulz Library is open for reading room access and borrowing prito students enrolled in the summer workshop. Lending privileges are provided to participants in Children’s Books, Cartooning Studio, Extended Studio Option and the Graphic Novel Workshop.


CCS provides the basic tools necessary to complete the class.  If you have specific needs or favorite tools, please feel free to bring them.


Morning snacks are provided for all workshop attendees. Several restaurants, cafes, and stores are located within walking distance from CCS and the Hotel Coolidge.

Vacation in Vermont

White River Junction has a vibrant arts community and a variety of exciting and entertaining places to visit: Main Street Museum, Northern Stage Theater, Tip Top Media Arts building

Other nearby attractions include the Lebanon Opera House, Dartmouth College’s Hopkins Center for the Arts and the Hood Museum, VINS Nature Center, St. Gaudens Museum and Park, Quechee Gorge, the historic covered bridges and picturesque village of Woodstock, Dartmouth College and the shops, restaurants and more in the town of Hanover, NH.

The Upper Valley Aquatic Center (UVAC) offers day passes for $15. The UVAC is located about 1.5 miles from CCS and includes a several pools, a splash park and 110-foot water slide, and a complete fitness center.

Ben & Jerry’s Factory Tour– Tour the headquarters of the most famous name in the frozen food aisle! Located in Waterbury, VT, the Ben & Jerry’s Factory offers a fun and educational experience for all ages (not to mention the free samples.)
