CCS Visiting Artist: Cathy G. Johnson

Cathy G. Johnson is a cartoonist, printmaker and arts educator. Her graphic novels include Jeremiah (One Percent Press), Gorgeous (Koyama Press) and The Breakaways (First Second). She has also published numerous smaller works with publishers such as Czap Books, Youth in Decline, and Silver Sprocket, as well as self-publishing. She is also a printmaker, regularly working in the feminist art collective studio, Dirt Palace, in Providence, RI.

Alum Spotlight: JP Coovert

JP Coovert

JP Coovert ’08 is probably best known for his work at One Percent Press and also for illustrating the Charlie Joe Jackson books, written by Tommy Greenwald. He has also be working on a journal comic, Simple Routines, for almost thirteen years!

Alum Debut: Killbuck by Sean Knickerbocker

Sean Knickerbocker’s (′12) debut graphic novel, Killbuck, is now out through One Percent Press, which is run by JP Coovert. This coming-of-age story is set in impoverished rural America. It is 96 black-and-white pages at 8.5×5.5 inches.
