Summer Workshop Spotlight: Single-Panel Comics with Hilary Price

June 3-6, 2019

Hilary Price (Rhymes with Orange) is back from summer 2019 with her Single-Panel Comics Workshop, June 3-6. This 4 day workshop is jam-packed for four days. Hilary examines the essentials in creating a single panel comic: characters, environment, plot, and THE GAG.

Stephen Donch took the Single-Panel Workshop in 2017. And as most cartoonists say after first visiting The Center for Cartoon Studies, “for the first time in my life I was surrounded by people who shared my crazy love for comics.” You can read more of his interview with Angela Boyle ′16.

Summer Workshop: Single-Panel Comics

From Rhymes with Orange, 1/9/2018

June 11–14

Eventbrite - The Center for Cartoon Studies Summer Workshops

Hilary Price is known for her syndicated strip Rhymes with Orange. And this summer you can learn from her how to make your own gag comics. Hilary has been creating Rhymes with Orange, which has won “Best Newspaper Panel” from the National Cartoonist Society four times, since 1995. At the time, she was the youngest woman to ever have a syndicated strip.

In a 4-day intensive workshop (June 11–14), Single Panel Comics, Hilary will examine the essentials in creating a single panel comic: characters, environment, plot, and THE GAG. Both beginners and advanced adults will have the opportunity to come away with completed gags through Hilary’s lectures and studio time.

Registration is open, so get your pens ready and sign up.
