Create Comics Workshop, July 7-11

July 7-11, 2014

Create Comics Summer Workshop is a ‘boot camp’ for cartoonists. The 5-day workshop packs in the essentials for producing your own comics. For ages 16+

Through lectures, exercises, and group projects, students learn about story structure, page composition, pacing, materials and techniques, character design, environmental drawing, and production. Students collaborate on a comic anthology that they self-publish during the workshop. Create Comics is for both beginner and advanced students age 16 and over.

Exploring aspects of writing and illustrating books for children

This new, goal-oriented workshop will explore several aspects of writing and illustrating books for children through hands on exercises and activities. Faculty include celebrated children’s book authors, illustrators, and cartoonists: Scott C. (East Dragon, West Dragon), Jon Chad (Leo Geo and His Miraculous Journey Through the Center of the Earth), DB Johnson (Creator of Henry Picture Books / image above), James Sturm (Adventures in Cartooning) and Alec Longstreth (Phase 7).
