Welcome to my Website - New Stuff Every Monday (About the author/artist)

Today's News: 11.20.07

The first new Roosevelt Park in a while. I'm going to be busy over the next couple of weeks, and might not have a chance to get to a scanner, so updates will be sporadic. But hopefully in the new year I'll be able to settle into enough of a routine to get the strip up on a regular basis.

If you haven't already, check out the distro!!!: www.iknowjoekimpel.com. Or be IKJK's friend on MySpace! Get bullitens on news, when new books are released and when new items are put up for sale.

Intro & Info (Past news)

Welcome to my website! This is the current home of Roosevelt Park, my comic strip, as well as all the other comic art that I'm currently embroiled in. I have my comics, my illustration work, and some other stuff up for everyone's viewing pleasure. I did all the web design and everything myself, and it's very basic, and I don't know HTML or anything, and I don't have the money to hire someone who does. I'm currently trying to get the strip up once a week, usually on Mondays, although I'm late sometimes. I'd be on time more often if more people read the strip, so if you want me to be late less often, get more people to read it!!!

E-mail me, info is on the Contact page.

The hiatus is finally over. I know it took much longer than planned, but I didn't even get home from the XC tour until late in October, and I've been busy with the whole job search thing since then. I hope to get back into Roosevelt Park and have new strips up by next Monday. It's been a long time off, but I'm hoping I can pick up where I left off without too much trouble.

08.07.2007: Roosevelt Park is currently on a temporary hiatus for the I Know Joe Kimpel Cross-Country Tour! Don't worry, after the trip I'll be working over-time to get all caught up on the strips I've missed this summer, with a renewed vigor and a renewed commitment to Roosexcellence!

The trip starts this Friday, after I'm done pencilling a forthcoming issue of "Tales of the TMNT" (that stands for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. If ya don't know, now ya know). Raphael is a big monster turtle after getting bitten by space vampires, and Donatello has been shrunk to action-figure size by Amazionian aliens. Awesome, isn't it?

I'll also be blogging about the trip over on the I Know Joe Kimpel Blog! So if you just can't get enough of me, you can get your fix over there. I'll also be researching my next big project, Running in Place, my first graphic novel-length work, which I plan to release in installments over the next couple of years (150+ pages takes a long time, buddy).

MoCCA was a good time. The Sundays anthology did fantastically. Details are up on the IKJK Blog.

I have been working on new strips, but I don't have the proper digital facilities to scan and post them online at the moment, while I'm away teaching summer comics camps. In leiu, I will be posting info and hopefully some photos up here about my adventures in summer camp. First post will hopefully go up this weekend, as I finish up my first 2-week camp at the Maple Street School in Manchester, VT.
