The first installment of the Barcode Bonanza was fantastic! We got through 2,000 books and are just hovering under 3,000. As you can see from the team of library volunteers (ranging from professional singers to baristas to biologists) we had a full house. In order to better track our progress, I made a handy graphic.
For the 1,000 books processed another shelf will be filled in with books, surprises and comic book character accessories. Since we’ve are already on the road those two sassy librarians (who bear an awfully close resemblance to Caitlin M. and me) are already filled in and ROCKING. We’ve got quite awhile to go before that sleepin’ Snoopy and Woodstock are reached but through hard work and helpful volunteers, we’ll be there before you know it!
This Saturday, February 26th, marks another day of the Barcode Bonanza and more than a few people have signed up! We will actually be holding the Bonanza at the Center for Cartoon Studies itself on the 26th in order to meet the demand of volunteers. You can sign up or ask any questions by emailing us!
So come on down to the Center for Cartoon Studies at 94 South Main Street in the heart of White River Junction. Our books are fun (even risqué as one volunteer found out) and our cartoonists are funnier. For everyone too far to travel, keep yours eyes peeled for our bookcase o’ progress and its sassy shelves.
