Have you ever wondered what the inside of the Schulz Graphic Novel Library smells like? Have you ever wanted to be a librarian for a day? It’s a little bit easier than being a volunteer firefighter, we don’t make you lug around fifty pounds of hose! Well, this February both Saturday the 19th and the 26th, you will get your chance.
This winter librarian Caitlin M. (who was the January blogger over at the Desk Set), myself and a hoard of CCS volunteers have been barcoding and now we invite you to help us reach our 10,000 Barcode Book Challenge! The library will be open from 10am-5pm both Saturdays and we urge you to show up either at 10am or 2pm when we will have the short orientation sessions on those sexy barcodes.
Lots of coffee and healthy snacks will be provided, maybe some jammin’ tunes to tap your toes to. If this is your first time to visit White River Junction, Vermont you won’t be disappointed because did we mention the Center for Cartoon Studies also has a ROBOT STATUE?! After we close up the library at 5pm I’ll take your photo with DIXIE. Woooboy, graphic novels, coffee and robots? I’m not sure how much better Saturday the 19th or 26th could get any better! Maybe by making some new friends like you!
Email your questions and what day you would like to come volunteer to email@example.com. Bostonites, you’re only 2.5 hours away and New Yorkers, about six hours!
