STUDY CARTOONING IN VERMONT
Summer 2007 Workshops for Young Cartoonists
White River Junction, Vermont - This summer The Center for Cartoon Studies will offer two consecutive sessions of last year's successful workshop: Create Comics (for ages 16+). Each week-long workshop promises a thorough exploration of the medium, a fascinating look into the process of making cartoons, and a lot of fun!
Create Comics is an intensive, hands-on experience with an emphasis on collaboration and self-publishing. Last year's participants were able to produce several complete comics in the space of a week!
Create Comics I runs from July 9th to July 13th, with Create Comics II as a follow up and/or stand alone workshop from July 16th to July 20th. Aspiring cartoonists ages 16 and up can sign up for either session by visiting our website: http://cartoonstudies.org. Students may enroll in both sessions.
Instructors this summer include Alec Longstreth and Aaron Renier, celebrated veterans of the mini-comic world and experienced self-publishers. Legendary cartoonist and comics historian Steve Bissette will join us again this summer, along with The Center for Cartoon Studies' programming assistant Robyn Chapman and director James Sturm.
So come to White River Junction, Vermont and find out why The Washington Post, The Farmer's Almanac, and The Boston Globe all say that CCS is the place to learn about comics! For more information on workshops, faculty, and registration, visit our website: http://cartoonstudies.org
