Scholarships

The Center for Cartoon Studies (CCS) offers limited direct scholarships. CCS scholarships are applicable only to accepted students and deducted directly from your CCS tuition balance.

First Year Students (MFA/Certificate program) – Merit scholarships that are awarded to incoming students the first week of June. All accepted and deposited (by June 1) applicants are considered based on their application portfolio. A committee meets to distribute roughly $20,000 in funding to a(n) incoming student(s) whose work is of exceptional merit. Some years it may be as high as $10,000 or as low as $2,500.
Second Year Students (MFA/Certificate program) – The Ed Koren Memorial Scholarship Fund recognizes and celebrates Vermont cartoonist Ed Koren and his unique legacy by awarding a $5,000 award to a second-year CCS student whose work in or out of the studio enriches the cultural and civic life of Vermont. Returning students can email edkorenscholarship@cartoonstudies.org for information and to apply.
